FAQ's

1. I’d like to volunteer to be a head coach or an assistant coach. What should I do?

§ Send an email to chsfeederflagfootball@gmail.com with your name, your players name and her grade. If you know you would rather be an assistant or head coach, please include that in the email as well.

2. Will there be a Spring clinic?

§ Yes, that is our goal and the clinic will occur after spring break. Time and location to be determined.

3. When are tryouts?

§ Registration for Tryouts are open with tryouts occurring on May 7th and 8th. Must be registered and meet eligibility requirements.

4. What are the requirements?

§ Must be a rising 6th – 8th grader zoned for Cambridge High School (please email if have a rising 5th grader interested).

§ Must have a current physical (signed by a doctor after October 1, 2025)

§ We can take players who are not zoned for Cambridge ONLY if their zoned Fulton Co High School does not have an active feeder program. 

§ If you are zoned for Cambridge, but you attend a private Middle School or are Home-schooled, you are still eligible. Some Private Middle Schools have their own Middle School Teams, so we recommend checking with your school first.

5. When will practice start?

§ Practices will start the week of July 27th. Date and time TBD once field space is confirmed. There will be no practice on Labor Day.

6. When are games?

§ Games are on Saturdays (possibly some Sundays) starting on August 8th. The season typically runs through mid-September including playoffs.

§ We will play Labor Day Weekend!

§ Each team plays 2 games per day

7. What equipment is needed?

§ All players need cleats, turf shoes or tennis shoes, a mouthguard, navy shorts without pockets and a water bottle for all practices and games. Jerseys, pinnies and flags will be provided.

8. Will we need to volunteer for home games?

§ Yes, each family will need to volunteer for a minimum of two volunteer spots per season.

9. Will transportation be provided to and from practices and games?

§ No, transportation is not provided for practices and games.

10. Will there be summer workouts?

§ Yes, there will be OPTIONAL summer workouts. Times and locations to be provided once coaches have determined that schedule. There will not be OPTIONAL summer workouts during the GHSA mandatory DEAD weeks: May 25th - 31st and June 29th – July 5th.

11. Will there be a camp this summer?

§ Yes, the high school will be hosting a camp June 22nd – 25th at Cambridge High School from 9am to noon.
